The reputed Kashmiri Pandit surgeon, Dr Sameer Kaul has extended full medical assistance to the 25-year-old woman who received serious facial burns in an acid attack in summer capital Srinagar on Wednesday.
Kaul, who is also the national spokesperson of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party has offered to bear full medical cost for the treatment of the victim at the Apollo hospital in Delhi.
The offer has been accepted and the victim will be flying to New Delhi on Friday to receive restorative treatment through plastic surgery by Dr Shaheen Noor-e-Yazdan at the Apollo hospital, a statement issued by the PDP said.
PDP president Mehbooba Mufti visited the victim at SMHS hospital and conveyed to her Kaul's offer to bear her treatment cost.
"All expenses for the treatment will be met by Kaul who is a senior surgeon at the same hospital and has remained associated with a number of voluntary medical initiatives in Kashmir," the statement added.
The woman was attacked by two youth in the posh uptown Barzalla locality with a bottle of acid which burnt her face and damaged her left eye. The two accused have already been arrested.
