YSR Congress President Jagan Mohan Reddy on Monday called on Andhra Pradesh Governor ESL Narasimhan to demand an emergency session of the state assembly to pass a resolution against the proposed bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.

Jagan, who was released on bail from Chanchalguda prison in Hyderabad last week, met the governor at the Raj Bhavan along with senior leaders of his party and urged the governor to direct the convening of the assembly session immediately.

"There will be no use if such a resolution was passed after the Union cabinet note on Telangana was prepared," he said, demanding that such a resolution should be passed before the Cabinet note was prepared.

Reddy was allowed by the Central Bureau of Investigation court earlier on Monday to visit Idupulapaya in Kadapa district on Tuesday and Wednesday.

He had filed a petition in court seeking permission to leave Hyderabad as, he claimed, he wanted to his visit his father's grave in Idupulapaya.

But the court did not grant him the permission to visit Guntur district.
