Michael Jackson might flee: Prosecution

May 24, 2004 09:38 IST

Michael Jackson may flee the country if his request for reducing the $3 million bail is granted by the country, the prosecution has said.

The prosecution led by District Attorney Tom Sneddon claims that Jackson's wealth requires the huge bail to make him appear for trial on child molestation charges.

"The temptation to flee must surely be strong for an individual in defendant's circumstances," said District Attorney's motion before the court. "To suppose otherwise would be to blink reality."

The prosecution motion envisioned Jackson living out the rest of his life as 'a wealthy absconder' rather than facing a life term in a California prison.
