J-K: CRPF recovers 5-kg IED near Srinagar

The Central Reserve Police Force recovered an Improvised Explosive Device, weighing around four to five kilogram, on the HMT-Narbal Route near Beacon Huts in Lawapora Area in the outskirts of Srinagar on Saturday morning.

"We got some information around 3:30 am that there was a possibility of  an IED being plant. From that moment we started patrolling in this area, at around 6:55 am, the RR found this IED," Commander P P Pauly told ANI.

He also said that the bomb disposal squad has taken away the IED which is weighing around 4-5 kilograms.

"A shell was also attached to it and it was planted so as obstruct the movement of the security forces," he added.
