Army troops on Friday foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control, killing four infiltrating terrorists in north Kashmir.
A defence spokesman said, "An infiltration bid was foiled by alert security forces on the LoC at the Keran sector, near Hanuman Top, wherein terrorists who were trying to sneak inside the Indian territory, with huge quantity of arms to target civilians and security forces were killed."
"During this operation, four heavily armed terrorists were killed and huge quantity of war like stores were recovered which included five AK-47 rifles," he said.
"This is a desperate attempt to ensure maximum infiltration by the other side, before the traditional routes of infiltration close due to snow. The Indian army will ensure that none of these efforts succeed." Lt Col J S Brar, defence spokesperson said in Srinagar.
