Central agencies have confirmed the presence of elements of Pakistan spy agency Inter Services Intelligence in Kerala.
Union Minister of State for Home Mullapally Ramachandran told rediff.com on Monday that there were certain individuals and organisations in the state, which were facilitating the activities of the ISI and said that the Union government would take stringent action against them.
Responding to the charges levelled by People's Democratic Party leader Abdul Nasser Madani that the Intelligence Bureau was trying to destroy him by implicating him in the Bangalore blasts case, the minister said that the IB is an agency of the central government, which acts for the country in crucial areas, and that it does not target any individual.
However Mulapally told rediff.com that if there were any IB officials found to be acting beyond his powers with regard to any individual or organisation, the matter would be taken up seriously.
The minister further said that if Madani had not done anything wrong there was no reason for him to worry.
