A suicide car bomb attack on a crowded street near a Shiite shrine in Karbala, Iraq, claimed 55 lives on Saturday.
At least 70 people are said to be injured in the blast.
A police officer confirmed the attack had been carried out by a suicide bomber.
The death toll is likely to rise.
