Infographic: 13 states have more mobile phones than toilets

In 13 states and two Union territories, more households have a mobile phone than a toilet.

What is more important in life, a toilet inside the house or a mobile phone? 

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been emphasising that India needs to build more toilets to maintain hygiene, but it seems for many Indians the priorities are different. 

Rediff.com's infographic alongside shows that in 15 Indian states, including Gujarat, mobile phones are considered more important than having a toilet inside the home.
