Indian Army on Tuesday foiled an infiltration bid on the Line of Control killing five terrorists in the Keran sector of north Kashmir's Kupwara district.
A defence spokesman said that based on specific intelligence input, troops detected eight to nine terrorists in the forest area about 800 meters ahead of the fence towards the LoC.
“The terrorists were immediately fired upon triggering an encounter during which five terrorists were killed and rest fled towards the LoC under the cover of thick foliage,” Col Pendhakar told rediff.com.
