“The operation was launched in the evening hours when the infiltration bid was detected by surveillance devices and alert sentries of Indian army,” defence spokesman Col Manish Mehta told Rediff.com.
“The area has been cordoned off and search operations were going on till last reports came in,” he said.
He said, “The failed infiltration bid and casualties is a big blow to the nefarious designs of terrorists and their handlers across the LoC who have been waiting and planning for infiltration for a long time.”
“There have been no casualties and damage on own side,” the spokesman said and added ‘the search operation is going on’.
Alert sounded along LoC as militant infiltration increases
