Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Monday said that India wants better relations with Pakistan and China.

Addressing jawans of the Indo Tibetan Border Police at Samba in Jammu and Kashmir on Monday, Singh said India has always been a peaceful neighbour and willing to maintain and have good relations with all its neighbouring countries.

The Home minister said India has always extended a hand of friendship and Pakistan should reciprocate and take steps to improve that relationship. He also said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has clearly conveyed to China that resolving all outstanding issues, including border disputes, is key to bilateral ties.

Singh said that the ITBP has been guarding 3,488 km-long Indo-China border which is one of the most inhospitable and difficult borders.

He said that the Home ministry is working on issues of road and telecom connectivity on Indo-China border.

Applauding the jawans, for carrying out rescue operations during natural calamities in Himalayan region, he said that they are not only the Himveers (the warriors of snow) but also Himalyaputras (sons of the Himalaya).

Singh inaugurated the newly-constructed building of the camp of the 47th battalion of the ITBP at Samba.
