During the interrogation of terror suspect T Nasir, the Bengaluru police have stumbled upon an interesting book that is used by Indian Mujahideen operatives to recruit jihadis.
Jerusalem to Babri is the most popular book among new recruits of the terror outfit, sources told rediff.com.
"During Nasir's interrogation, he had told us about such a book being circulated among the new cadres. Nasir also claimed that this was one of the latest additions to the IM's 'recruitment kit'," said a senior official.
According to Intelligence Bureau officials, the book had been written by a member of the Students Islamic Movement of India. This book was written after the Centre declared the SIMI as a banned organistaion, and it was never distributed openly.
The short book explains why people should take up jihad, say the police. The book chronicles the issues plaguing Muslims across the world -- from the contentious Middle East problem to the Babri Masjid demolition.
The IM reportedly has more books and CDs with such content for its recruitment drive, said the police. But this book appears to be the most popular one among its cadres and the police are trying to stop its circulation across the country, said sources.
