IED blast in Imphal, no casualties reported

A low intensity Improvised Explosive Device explosion shook Imphal on Wednesday ahead of the Republic Day celebrations in the city.

The incident, which occurred inside a crematory complex, took place around 11.05 am. No casualties have been reported.

Several banned terror outfits in the region have reportedly called for a state-wide boycott of the upcoming Republic Day celebrations.

According to reports, the extremist organisations have further appealed to the people of Manipur to safely remain indoors supporting a total shutdown of activities from 9 p.m. of January 25 to 6 pm of January 26.
