Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee's security is being beefed up after the ruling party announced his name as their candidate for the Presidential polls. There will now be a heavy security at his house and the traffic flow will not be restricted for one month.

Pranab Mukherjee will have Z plus security at par with the President, which includes a jammer. These additions will slowly be introduced from Monday. His visitors will now be doubly frisked till the elections. Till he assumes office the entire onus of his security rests with the Union Ministry of Home Affairs, in other words, with the Intelligence Bureau.
