“Sad to watch and read the ongoing efforts, who tarnished the dedicated life of Mother Teresa. I worked at one of her centres and other than helping the poor and the needy there.... It was a real learning and humbling experience for me. I wish they will spare her and not let her life’s dedicated efforts be judged,” said Vadra, son-in-law of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, on Facebook.
Congress general secretary Digvijay Singh also condemned Bhagwat over his remarks against Mother Teresa.
“Condemn Mohan Bhagwat’s uncharitable remarks against Mother Teresa. Please respect her dedicated service to the poor and under privilege (sic),” Singh said on Twitter.
Bhagwat had stirred a controversy on Monday by questioning the motives of Mother Teresa, alleging that her work had a “hidden agenda...that one served should become a Christian”.
