As the three-hour-long relaxation in curfew in Hyderabad passed off peacefully on Sunday, police commissioner A K Khan was seen playing cricket on a deserted road near the Charminar. After visiting the affected areas during the curfew relaxation period on Sunday morning, Khan found a group of journalists playing cricket.
As the curfew was re-imposed in the 25 police station limits, children and groups of youth were also playing cricket on many deserted roads.
Meanwhile the day curfew will be lifted from all the 25 police station limits of South and West Zone in view of the improvement in the situation. The curfew will be lifted from 8 am to 5 pm. "The decision was taken in view of tremendous improvement in the situation", Khan said. He thanked all the citizens, religious leader, political parties and media for their cooperation in restoration of normalcy.
Meanwhile the police have also booked a case against Hyderabad MP and Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen president Asadudin Owaisi for breaking the curfew and holding a demonstration at the Charminar police station against late night arrests by the police in old city.
