The Moderate All Parties Hurriyat Conference Thursday served a show cause notice on three of its senior leaders for their recent utterances and causing ruckus at a recent meeting of the APHC executive.
The three leaders, Abdul Gani Bhat, Naeem Ahmad Khan and Azam Inquillabi have been asked to respond to the notices within 10 days.
Bhat who heads the Muslim Conference constituent of the amalgam had triggered a storm by stating that the United Nations resolutions on Kashmir were 'impracticable'.
The various constituent of the conglomerate had taken a strong note of the statement demanding action against Bhat.
Professor Bhat, Naeem Ahmad Khan who heads the National Front and Mohammad Azam Inquillabi have been served notices 'for violation of constitution and creating ruckus' during a meeting of the APHC executive at the Rajbagh headquarters earlier this month, an APHC statement said.
It said that Shabir Ahmad Shah, who heads the Democratic Freedom Party shall be communicated through a letter to refrain from giving his suggestion in respect of issues pertaining to the APHC to the media, and instead would be asked to place them before the forum.
Apart from these decisions, the APHC executive which met under the chairmanship of Mirwaiz Moulvi Umar Farooq reiterated that 'the APHC's stand regarding the Kashmir issue is clear'.
It said that 'anybody's individual or party opinion should never be taken as the stand or strategy of APHC'. "The participants in the meeting said that it was the prime duty of every individual to respect the APHC constitution."
They said it was incumbent on every big or small leader to strengthen the APHC, the statement added.
