The third round of talks between Centre and the Hurriyat is likely to be held in first week of July and a decision about widening the ambit of parleys with separatist groups in Jammu and Kashmir would be taken soon.
This was stated by Centre's interlocutor N N Vohra after a meeting with Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil in Delhi at his office.
After the second round of talks on March 27 with the then Deputy Prime Minister Lal Kishenchand Advani, the two sides had decided to meet again in the month of June for the third round, Vohra told reporters.
He added that as of now there could be some delay and it could be held in early July depending on engagements of the Union home minister.
Vohra had met Prime Minister Manmohan Singh yesterday and had offered to resign. He had told reporters that it was for the prime minister to decide whether he should continue or not.
The Centre's interlocutor said he would be meeting the home minister again tomorrow to brief him about the discussions held so far with the Hurriyat. Asked whether the ambit of dialogue would be broadened, Vohra said this decision would also be taken after tomorrow's meeting with Patil.
