Parliament session smooth sans NDA

Both houses of Parliament saw smooth business on Wednesday as opposition National Democratic Alliance members boycotted proceedings to highlight their demand for Railway Minister Lalu Prasad's ouster following framing of charges against him in a fodder scam case.

Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha saw normal functioning of Question Hour, the main casualty of the opposition protests.

NDA boycotts Somnath's meeting

A large number of questions were taken up in both Houses in an orderly manner.

Even the demand for dismissal of Narendra Modi government by two United Progressive Alliance members in Rajya Sabha, which would otherwise have been received with protests from NDA, did not evoke any reaction.

The NDA has decided to boycott parliamentary proceedings for the week.

Gujarat fit for President's rule: Lalu

It also termed as false Yadav's statement that he was attacked by Sangh Parivar activists during his visit to the Sabarmati Express accident site and the hospital in Vadodara where he had gone to see the injured.
