While some reports say Sirajuddin Haqqani, the operational chief of Haqqani network has recently held a meeting with Afghan president Hamid Karzai in the presence of Pakistani Army chief Ashfaq Kiyani, Kabul-based sources reveal the meeting did not take place.
Sources told Sirajuddin has not met the president, but during a meeting Pakistan has asked Karzai to give "share to Haqqani Network' and 'Gulbadin Hikmatyar' in the government.
In June last week, Kiyani and Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) chief Shuja Pasha met Karzai. It was widely reported that Sirajuddin was also present on the occasion.
The source reveals, "There was no Sirajuddin in the meeting, but the Pakistani Army officers offered Karzai with their help for holding negotiations with Haqqani Network and Gulbadin Hikmatyar, the head of Hizbi Islami.
