'Never use too much oil in your hair'

Sandrine Verrier, hair and makeup consultant at the India Fashion Week 2003, offers tips on hair care.

• Never use too much oil in your hair. Else dandruff can set in and ruin it.

• Always shampoo your hair well. Use light, cleansing products and shampoo your hair at least twice or thrice a week.

• Always use separate shampoos and conditioners. Never use shampoo-cum-conditioners. They ruin your hair.
  
  
• Condition only the strands of your hair, never the scalp.
  
  
• Let the conditioner remain in your hair for at least 10 minutes. Else you are wasting the product and not letting it do what it says it will do.
  
  
• Henna is a good conditioner for your hair only for 20 minutes; any longer than that and it drains your hair of all oil and moisture.
