A gun-battle broke out between a group of militants and security forces in Baramulla district of north Kashmir this afternoon, police said.
Based on specific information about the presence of militants, troops of One Para, 32 Rashtriya Rifles and 40 Rashtriya Rifles raided Nardagi forest area, 60 km from Srinagar.
Police said the militants, believed to be around four in number, started firing on the personnel, forcing them to retaliate.
The gunbattle was still on, they said.
