The Gujarat government on Wednesday banned expelled BJP leader Jaswant Singh's controversial book on Pakistan founder Mohammed Ali Jinnah which allegedly defamed the image of Vallabbbhai Patel, officials in the Chief Minister's Office said.

The BJP had yesterday completely disassociated from Singh's book "Jinnah--India, Partition, Independence".

Singh had praised Jinnah and charged first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru and Vallabhbhai Patel with being responsible for the partition of India.

The ban on Jaswant's book came soon after his expulsion from the BJP.
