Delhi-based businessman Sajal Jain, the prime accused in a gang rape case, on Friday was pelted with tomatoes and manhandled as he was produced in the metropolitan court in Ahmedabad.
The gang rape and the subsequent suicide of the victim has triggered a public outcry in the city.
Vociferously demanding justice for the victim's family, a large crowd had begun gathering in the court since afternoon raising slogans -- "Sajal ko hamare hawale karo."
The police was forced to seek reinforcement to control the crowd.
Sajal and his friends are accused of raping a girl at a new year's party.
