A day after he wrote to Prime Minister Modi with 5 suggestions on tackling the COVID-19 surge in the country, former prime minister Dr Manmohan Singh tested positive for coronavirus and has been admitted to AIIMS with mild fever.
Dr Singh, 88, has been admitted to the AIIMS trauma centre, which is a dedicated COVID facility, where his condition is stated to be stable.
Cutting across political lines, wishes for his speedy recovery have been pouring in.
'Wishing our former Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh Ji good health and a speedy recovery,' Modi tweeted.
External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said, 'Concerned at the news of former PM Dr Manmohan Singh ji testing Covid positive. Wishing him early and fullest recovery.'
Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi perhaps summed it up best when he said, 'India needs your guidance and advice in this difficult time.'
