Within a week of Shiv Sena Chief Bal Thackeray asking private FM radio channels to air Marathi songs, 94.3 Radio One has decided to have a dedicated weekly show for Marathi music.
Continuing with the trend of pioneering the spirit and passion for music in the Indian radio space, 94.3 Radio One will introduce first of its kind initiative for Marathi Music listeners in Mumbai, a release said.
Starting July 18, every week 94.3 Radio One will play 'Top 13 Marathi Songs'. The top 13 Marathi special will also feature interviews with prominent Marathi artists, singers, lyricists and on their favorite music.
Commenting on the new initiative, Bavesh Janavlekar, Station Head Mumbai said, "at 94.3 Radio One, we strongly believe that good quality music has no boundaries and this can be seen through our initiatives. We are India's first music station which promotes different genres of music along with the popular Bollywood music. We have always believed in giving our listeners quality music which exists across genres.
With this top 13 Martahi song we are truly living up to the brand promise of giving our listeners 'Maximum music. Maximum choice'."
As part of the constant endeavor to enrich the musical experience of our listener's through innovative on-air initiatives, 94.3 Radio One, also recently had associated with the national award winning singer composer duo, Ajay-Atul for their concert held in May.
MJ Yamini had interviewed them live in addition to covering their concert. The concert was held in support of the city-wide 'Save Water, Save Mumbai' campaign.
