Delhi Diwali: 3 deaths and over 200 blazes

Three people were killed and several injured in different incidents of fire since Diwali evening till early Wednesday morning.

A couple and their son were burnt alive in the Punjabi Bagh area when their house caught fire around 04:30 AM, fire brigade officials said.

Over a dozen people were injured in Mongolpuri area when fire in a house spread through the neighbourhood. They have been hospitalised.

The fire brigade said over 200 flares, set off by firecrackers, were reported in the capital in the last 48 hours. Out of these, around 100 took place since Tuesday evening.

Two fire brigade personnel were injured on Tuesday night when a portion of a building on fire in the Anand Parbat area collapsed on them.
