A fire broke out on Wednesday at the Central Warehousing Corporation godown in Navi Mumbai, officials said.
The incident took place at around 1015 hours at the godown near FMC market, Sector 20, in Turbhe following which several fire engines and water tankers from nearby fire stations like Vashi, Belapur, Airoli were rushed to the spot, they said.
There were several drums containing sulphur which seems to have caused the fire. It is early to conclude anything, a fire official said.
As of now no causalities have been reported in the incident as fire operations are still on, he said adding residents have been advised to stay indoors due to the chemical fire.
