A fire broke out at the defence ministry office housed in New Delhi's high security South Block on Thursday night, fire brigade officials said.
The blaze was reported from a room on the second floor of defence ministry which is located behind the Prime Minister's Office, Delhi Disaster Management Authority said in a text message.
Sixteen fire tenders were rushed to the spot and they took around half an hour to douse the blaze.
"We received a call at 11:24 pm," a fire brigade official said. The cause of fire was yet to be ascertained, the official said, adding there was no immediate report of any casualty.
The fire brigade officials said they also received a bogus call about a fire at Air Force headquarters at Rafi Marg.
