Fierce encounter on in south Kashmir

A fierce encounter is on between terrorists and security forces in south Kashmir's Shopian district.

According to a senior official, the officer said troops of the Rashtriya Rifles and the police jointly surrounded a house in Hef Shermal village of Shopian district in the afternoon on specific information about presence of two terrorists inside.

"As the security forces challenged the holed up terrorists to surrender, the latter opened fire triggering a gunfight which is on," the officer said.
