Defence Minister George Fernandes said on Friday that Pakistan was a fitter case than Iraq for a pre-emptive strike.

"I agree with what External Affairs Minister Yashwant Sinha said the other day," Fernandes, who was in Badmer, Rajasthan, said.

On April 9, Sinha had said in Parliament that if possession of weapons of mass destruction, export of terrorism and absence of democracy were the criteria, then Pakistan was a 'fitter case' for pre-emptive action.

Dismissing Sinha's remarks, US Secretary Colin Powell said no parallel could be drawn between Iraq and Pakistan.

Fernandes also said that Pakistan 'has the habit of lying' when it came to the Kashmir issue.
