Six Indian armymen reach Everest summit

Six members of the Indian Army on Monday morning reached the summit of Mount Everest.

They were part of the Indo-Nepal army expedition. The joint team, apart from the Indian armymen, has six Royal Nepalese Army soldiers and five sherpas.

After the first summit on May 22, this is the second summit of Mount Everest by the team.

Indian Chief of Army Staff Gen N C Vij flagged off the team on March 10. Colonel Ashok Abbey of the Indian Army and Lt Colonel Surya Sen Thakur of Royal Nepalese Army jointly led the team.
