An Egyptian plane carrying 135 passengers -- mostly French -- and six crewmembers crashed into the Red Sea early Saturday, Cairo airport officials said.
The Boeing 737 went down shortly after taking off from the seaside resort town of Sharm el-Sheikh, they said.
The Flash Airlines charter plane was headed to Cairo before continuing to Paris, according to a spokeswoman with the Cairo-based carrier.
"All people who were aboard the plane are dead," Osama al-Sayed, an official with Flash Air, said.
Pieces of wreckage were found off the coast of the resort, according to the Cairo airport officials.
