Kumar Acharya Vasudevan, 33, hailing from Mumbai, strangled his 32-year-old wife with a rope and smothered his daughter with a pillow when they were asleep, Brigadier Saleh Ali Al Mutawa, Chief of Sharjah Police said.
Vasudevan then committed suicide at around 7 am on Monday by jumping out of their flat's window, the police official was quoted as saying in the Gulf News daily.
"We do not think that it was financially motivated," the official said.
Kumar, who was employed with Baskin Robbins for 13 years, was promoted in September to the post of training manager for the Gulf region.
