Dr Manmohan Singh has a remarkable horoscope, the one that is doing the rounds in the capital these days. With Sagittarius as the lagna and the lagna lord in the 9th house, it speaks of his destiny to occupy important positions in his life.
The pinnacle came when he was chosen (not elected) the prime minister, thanks to his very powerful dharma-karmadhipati rajayoga between the sun and exalted mercury in the 10th house.
The sun is exalted in the 9th house of Navamsha chart, pushing up the already powerful sun a notch or two above the ordinary.
Many former prime ministers had to resign from the post on much smaller pretexts but Dr Singh has survived all the mega scams due to his extraordinarily powerful horoscope.
But ever since the dasha of rahu-sun started from February 24, 2011 in the horoscope of Dr Singh, he and his government have come under rough weather.
Rahu and sun are known to be sworn enemies of each other and the proof is that rahu gobbles up the sun from time to time and causes solar eclipses. There are several eclipses this year.
Moreover the alignment of rahu and sun in his birth chart is in 6/8 position which is the worst inimical alignment. If this was not enough, rahu and sun are in 2/12 position from each other and the sun is aspected by both the great malefics, saturn and mars in the Navamsha chart.
In November 2011, ketu will come as the pratyantar lord causing him severe anguish and a permanent damage to his once bright and unsullied reputation.
Following his rajadharma, like a true Sikh, he will be inclined to quit the post on his own. He would recall that Sikh kaum (community) was started to save the countrymen from the atrocities of the foreign rulers.
He may have the realisation finally that he has been handed a government full of scoundrels and good for nothing self serving sycophants and he is unable to control or influence them.
Similar indications are available from the chart of India's independence in which the country is running the reverse dasha, that of Sun-Rahu. Rahu is in the lagna (taurus) of India's chart and that is why the country has never been free from terrorists (mlechhas) right
from the day one.
The sun has lost its fire and effulgence being in a watery sign cancer in the birth chart and in pisces in the navamsha. In the navamsha, as the 6th lord of discontent, it is placed in the lagna and is also afflicted by mars and saturn.
The sun-rahu dasha cannot be called a good dasha even in the best of circumstances.
The sun, representing the seat of power, is behind the darkest clouds unable to shine through.
Let us take another chart, which gives more immediate indications. The New Year chart of India called chaitra shukla pratipada chart, starting from April 3, 2011 (and applicable till March 22, 2012) has a similar story to tell.
There are 6 planets out of a total of 9 in the 6/12 axis, which is the most dreaded axis in any horoscope. Sixth house indicates accidents, injuries, humiliation, imprisonment, contentious issues and enemies.
The 12th indicates losses, sickness, separation, prohibited pursuits, confinement and covert enemies. The recent dope scandal amongst the athletes causing India a huge international humiliation and the Mumbai blasts are the likely outcome of the starry alignments this year.
The more of such events are likely to unfold along with the financial scams in the remaining year since the planetary combinations of both the
raja and the
praja are orchestrating the pending doom.
In the new year chart, the sun
(raja) and the moon
(praja) are both afflicted by Mars and Saturn.
Where is the ray of hope? Transit Saturn in Virgo in the 10th house of Dr Singh obscures anything that might look positive. In the meek ministerial reshuffle more heads should have rolled, but they did not, thanks to the transit saturn obscuring his sun.
When an economist prime minister took the reins of the country in his hands, 7 years ago, we had predicted the economic doom for the country. You don't need astrology to predict that the inflation that has gone out of hand would completely wipe out whatever 'shine' is visible to the privileged few even now.
