Dom's Take: Kangana: BJP's Queen of Hearts

As the Shiv Sena-Kangana Ranaut war of words continues, the Bharatiya Janata Party is not missing a chance to score points over the Sena.

The Shiv Sena-controlled Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation on September 9 came in for flak after demolishing portions of Kangana's bungalow in Bandra, north west Mumbai.

Kangana's supporters said the BMC action came just hour after civic officials warned of action if the alleged illegal additions to the actor's villa were not removed.

Others pointed out that the BMC demolishes slums and other structures it deems illegal in Mumbai without any warning to slum dwellers.

Ashish Shelar -- Bandra's BJP MLA -- declared the Uddhav Thackeray-led government in Maharashtra is playing vendetta politics.

Shelar's remarks came a day after senior BJP leader Devendra Fadnavis condemned Kangana's remarks about the Mumbai police in the Sushant Singh Rajput death case, which the former chief minister said amounted to 'insult' of the police force.

Barring Ronnie Screwvala, reports Subhash K Jha, not a single banner, big or small, has signed Kangana for any films.

Subhash believes Kangana will produce her own films. He also believes the actor may gradually move away from cinema to a political career.

The BJP, Subhash says, is eager to have her on board. "But Kanganaji is not agreeable at the moment," a BJP politician tells Subhash. "We are willing to wait."

Dominic Xavier wonders if Kangana will take a lesson from the Smriti Irani playbook and turn to politics.

Her fearsome ability to sail in battle with no regard for the consequences could interest the two men who run the BJP.
