The Delhi police is on the lookout not for terrorists but for the pet dog of a VIP, which went missing weeks ago.
In fact, the department has spent over Rs 35,000 on advertisements in newspapers and distributing leaflets, describing the Pomeranian.
Simma, has white and pink fur and the owner is willing to give any reward to the person who finds the dog and returns it home.
Simma went missing from former Research and Analysis Wing director R S Bedi's residence on July 17 in Lodhi Estate and since then there has been no clue of its whereabouts.
"We are trying to locate it," a senior police officer of New Delhi range told the press. It is not yet known how many teams have been deployed to hunt for the missing dog.
Noted comedian Jaspal Bhatti, who did a comic episode on an official hunting for his dog, told rediff.com that senior officers should be given dog-hunting allowance along with special leave to trace missing pets. "This would go a long way in encouraging people to have pets," he said, over the phone from Chandigarh.
