The All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam during winter session of Parliament would maintain neutrality, but will oppose the United Progressive Alliance-II's stance on price rise and the Kudankulam issues.
But on its part as an ally of the UPA-II, the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam shall get along with the Congress' views. Tamil Nadu's two major political parties have to position themselves before the winter session.
On Monday, ADMK General Secretary Jayalalitha convened a meeting of ADMK members of Parliament prior to the winter session in Chennai to discuss the political approach of the party and give instructions.
Although this is customary, the perception is that the ADMK will be closer to Bharatiya Janata Party line of the political process. Jaya deputed M Thambidurai to greet LK Advani on completing his Yatra.
And Jaya's speech at the National Development Council criticising the Centre, indicates to ADMK's possible strategies for the winter session.
But the DMK on its part, has not yet indicated the meeting of its MPs to take stock of the political situation. After the demise of Murasoli Maran as the leader of DMK parliamentary party, there have been no regular meetings DMK MPs either in Delhi or in Chennai.
Moreover, these MPs do not want to speak to their president Karunanidhi on various political complex issues, as Karunanidhi gets annoyed for not getting his daughter Kanimozhi out of jail.
"T R Baalu as Leader of the DMK parliamentary Party is not convening the meeting of the Parliamentary party," said a senior DMK MP.In UPA II, every coalition partner had its own share: Maha CM
