Former Bihar chief minister Lalu Prasad Yadav's daughter Misa Bharti has been left red-faced after her claims of being invited as a speaker by the Harvard University was debunked by the American university itself.
Dr Misa Bharti had a few days ago, posted images of her on a social networking website stating that she had delivered a lecture at the prestigious American university Harvard at its India Conference.
However, the university has not taken this well and issued a statement saying it was untrue and that the images were a gross misrepresentation.
In a statement, Harvard said, “Misa Bharti was invited as part of the audience and not as a speaker of any panel at the India Conference at Harvard. Her attendee status can also be confirmed from the fact that she had to purchase a ticket as an audience. She was not invited to deliver any lecture.”
Harvard added that they had taken cognizance and would look into the matter.
Photographs uploaded on Misa’s Facebook page show her on stage, apparently addressing an audience. The album states, ‘At the ?#IndiaConference at HarvardUniversity, with key speakers and panelists.’
