Poor visibility owing to fog led to a nine vehicle pile-up on the Noida Expressway in the wee hours of Tuesday.
The incident took place near Sector 132 on Pari Chowk to Noida stretch when a truck hit a car around 3 am, said the police.
The badly damaged car and truck remained on the road. Approximately at 5 am, when visibility became almost zero on the expressway, vehicle after vehicle collided with the truck.
While some vehicles drove away, around nine badly damaged cars were still on the expressway beside the truck.
Police teams have reached the site and are clearing the damaged vehicles from the road, besides diverting traffic from the stretch.
