A love affair may have led to the death of a Delhi doctor whose partially burnt body was found on Wednesday in Haryana's Faridabad district.

Four people, including a woman, have been arrested for allegedly abducting and killing him.

Deputy Commissioner of Delhi Police Arvind Deep told rediff.com: "It is a case of a love affair."

Dr R K Gupta's body was found on Wednesday on the Gurgaon-Faridabad highway, police said. An autopsy was conducted in a hospital in Rohtak, Haryana.

Gupta, the senior consultant at the Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, went missing on December 5. The family claimed have received calls demanding ransom.

On December 8, police recovered his Cielo car (HR-26-J-6745) from the industrial township of Faridabad.

Gupta had divorced his first wife and had married another woman. He used to appear on a health show on Jain TV every Friday.

The Crime Branch, Special Cell and local police are jointly investigating the case.

The police said they would soon reveal details.
