Two years after blasts rocked two packed cinema halls in the national capital, Delhi Police have traced the main conspirators, members of pro-Khalistan outfit Babbar Khalsa International, in Germany.

Investigators in New Delhi claimed that they have zeroed in on the movements of the suspects after tracking their telephone calls, a finding that can boost the probe into the May 22, 2005 blasts at Liberty and Satyam cinema halls.

Acting swiftly, police also moved an application before Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Seema Maini in New Delhi for issuance of a Letters Rogatory seeking information about the suspects from Germany, which was granted by the court.

The Letters Rogatory (letter of request) seeks information about Satnaam Singh, son-in-law of Babbar Khalsa chief Wadhwa Singh, his wife Sukhwinder Kaur and another person identified as Kanwaljit Kaur.

The letter of request would be routed to Germany by the Ministry of External Affairs.

Besides masterminding the attacks, police claim they have evidence to prove that Singh and Kanwaljit Kaur facilitated smuggling of explosives to India and transfer of money for the whole operation through hawala channels.

One person was killed and scores were injured when near simultaneous blasts ripped through the crowded movie halls, a terror act police claimed was Babbar Khalsa International's efforts to regroup in the country.

Apart from telephone numbers and call details, police claimed they have the addresses of the three and wants to bring them back to India to stand trial in the case.
