Delhi govt decides to raise auto, taxi fares

TheĀ Delhi government on Monday decided to hike fares of autorickshaws and taxis in the national capital with effect from February one, official sources said.

The decision to raise fares was taken at a cbinet meting chaired by Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, they told PTI.

The cabinet, however, refused to unveil the new fare structure preferring to announce it on January 31, arguing that if it was revealed now, the operators would apply the hike with immediate effect.
