With just a few days left for the Delhi assembly poll campaign to end, leaders and workers of the Aam Aadmi Party from Gujarat are camping in the national capital to aggressively canvass for the party.

"More than 300 party leaders and workers, including those who had fought the 2014 Lok Sabha polls, have reached Delhi for an aggressive campaign," AAP convener in Gujarat Sukhdev Patel told PTI.

Dinesh Waghela and Jayanti Mewada, who had contested last year's general elections on AAP ticket from Ahmedabad East and West Lok Sabha seats respectively, are in Delhi along with farmers' rights activist Kanubhai Kalsaria, who had fought from Bhavnagar seat.

Patel added that their leaders from Gujarat would "expose Bharatiya Janata Party's claims of good governance" and would reach out to the Delhiites to make them aware about the problems faced by the people in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's home state.

"BJP leaders have thrived on false campaign; it is our duty as the new-era party to falsify their claims... The ruling BJP has been claiming that they have cleaned Sabaramati river, but it has been one of the most polluted rivers," he said.

"They are claiming that they will clean Yamuna. But what they did to Sabarmati, people know very well and we are sure that Delhiites will not be lured by their false campaign," he said.

Gujarat AAP spokesperson Harshil Nayak said that around 30 to 50 party workers are heading to Delhi every day.

"Party workers from cities like Ahmedabad, Surat, Vadodara, Jamnagar and Rajkot have gone to Delhi to support the local party unit. Those workers are going to Delhi on their own will and on their expenditure," he said.

Another AAP leader and former BJP MLA Kanu Kalsaria, who had revolted against the then Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi in 2010 against a proposed cement plant in Bhavnagar, has also reached Delhi.

Kalsaria, who campaigned in Connaught place area in New Delhi, said AAP's rise in Delhi will give way forward to the party state unit in Gujarat.

"People of Delhi will give a verdict in favour of Arvind Kejriwal. AAP's sun will rise in Delhi and it will enlighten a way for Gujarat after that," Kalsaria told PTI over phone.

"People cannot raise their voice in Gujarat, we do not want that to happen with the people of Delhi," he claimed.

The problems of the labourers of the unorganised sectors is the same in both the states including Delhi and Gujarat, if there is good governance in Gujarat, then why labourers are not able to survive, asked Kalsaria.

He added that they would also make people aware on the land acquisition ordinance passed by Modi-led NDA government.

"They are introducing laws via ordinance route just to acquire the land of farmers, our economy is depended upon the agriculture, if farmers will lose the land, then this nation will not survive," Kalsaria said.
