A young CISF constable allegedly shot dead a fellow lady constable posted along with him at the Yamuna Bank Metro Station in east Delhi before killing himself on Friday morning. The incident took place at around 7:00 hours, a senior police official said.
M Pillai, who was in his early twenties, allegedly pumped six bullets into the woman Constable N V S Teja, also of the same age, before shooting himself, the official said.
Pillai, who belonged to Tamil Nadu RPT Tamil Nadu, and Teja, who hailed from Andhra Pradesh, were recruited in the force in 2009. Teja was leaving for home after her night shift while Pillai had just joined duty when he opened fire at her.
Teja died on the spot while Pillai was rushed to nearby Walia Nursing Home in Laxmi Nagar where he was declared brought dead.
The police is investigating the reason behind the incident. "It appears that they were in a relationship and there was some personal dispute. We are investigating the matter," the official said.
