In a supplementary chargesheet filed in the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Kaveri Baweja, the Special Cell sought prosecution of Mohd Akbar Ismail Choudhary under various provisions of the Indian Penal Code, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act and the Explosive Substance Act.
"Choudhary has arranged a blue-colour Esteem car of his elder brother Mohsin (who is absconding) to Peerbhoy and others for helping them to roam around in Mumbai to hack a wi-fi system to send emails to media organisations before the serial blasts on September 13, 2008," the police alleged.
Choudhary, a resident of Pune, was arrested by the Mumbai police in September, 2008, before being taken into the formal custody of Delhi police on June 11 this year for his alleged role in serial blasts here.
He is also allegedly involved in the twin blasts in Hyderabad on August 25, 2007.
According to the police, Choudhary had joined Mansoor Asghar Peerbhoy, IM's media cell chief and other accused Mobin Kader Sheikh and Asif Bashir Sheikh by hatching a criminal conspiracy to send the emails by hacking a wi-fi system of a private firm at Chembur in Mumbai to send mails to different media organisations.
The court put the chargesheet filed against Choudhary in the case registered with Karol Bagh police station for consideration on September 16.
The police listed 14 witnesses in the chargesheet to support its charges, including those under the Information Technology Act, against the accused.
The police have till now filed chargesheets against 11 accused. A total of five cases were registered in connection with the serial blasts in the capital.
The blast at Karol Bagh had claimed the lives of 21 persons and injured 64 others.
