Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday asked President Pervez Musharraf to act against terrorism directed against India and said he was disturbed at indications of external linkages of terrorist groups with Saturday's serial blasts in New Delhi.
"India expects Pakistan to act against terrorism directed at India," Singh said, when Musharraf telephoned him on Monday evening to convey condolences for those who lost their lives in the terrorist bombing in the capital.
During the 10-minute telephonic conversation, Singh told Musharraf that the country was outraged at these heinous acts of terrorism, Prime Minister's Media Advisor Sanjaya Baru stated in New Delhi.
"We continue to be disturbed and dismayed at indications of the external linkages of terrorist groups with the October 29 bombing," Singh told Musharraf.
The prime minister emphasised that violence against civilians can never be justified and that terrorists would never weaken India's resolve or its commitment to the country's unity and territorial integrity.
Baru said Singh again drew Musharraf's attention to Pakistan's commitment to ending cross-border terrorism.
