The government is in the process of computerising all courts in the next five-six years, Union Law and Justice Minister H R Bhardwaj said on Saturday.
The programme is estimated to cost over Rs 1,000 crore, he told media persons in Bangalore.
Bhardwaj said the Supreme Court had been fully computerised in 'all ramifications' and the high courts had also been given funds.
"Metropolitan courts will be computerised within this year and all district courts will be given funds next year. Later the taluka-level courts will be computerised," Bhardwaj said.
Once the courts are computerised, an e-governance committee, to be set up in the Supreme Court will control it, he added.
