Demanding creation of separate Telangana state, nine Congress MPs from Andhra Pradesh on Friday staged protest near the Gandhi statue outside Parliament House.
The MPs sealed their mouths with black bands to register their protest.
"The Home Minister had announced two years back to initiate the process of formation of separate Telangana state but nothing has been done yet," M Jagannath, Andhra Congress MP, said.
He said there were "successful strikes and bandhs in support of demand foe Telangana state but still our demand has not been fulfilled yet.
"More than 700 people have committed suicide so far in Telangana struggle and schools and colleges remained closed and administration was paralysed during the bandh in support of Telangana state."
Claiming massive support for the separate statehood demand, another Congress MP M Jaganathan said majority of political parties are supporting the Telangana demand and the Centre should not delay the matter any further.
