A Congress corporator was shot dead by some unidentified assailants in a Navi Mumbai locality on Monday.
Anant Kale was killed in sector three of Airoli node at around 0900 hours, police said.
Kale represented the Airoli ward in the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation.
The corporator succumbed to injuries on way to a hospital in the nearby Mulund locality of Mumbai.
In November last year, NCP corporator Devidas Chougule was shot dead allegedly by gangsters of the Ravi Pujari gang at the behest of a local extortionist in the same area.
